NBA To Approve 22-Team Return Plan At Walt Disney World: Report

The NBA is moving closer to a return to action as the owners are set to vote in favor of a plan to resume games this summer. According to ESPN, the plan will involve 22-teams and the games will be held at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida.

The top eight teams in both the Eastern and Western conferences will qualify, along with six teams that are within six games of the eighth-seed. Those teams include the Portland Trail Blazers, New Orleans Pelicans, Sacramento Kings, San Antonio Spurs, Phoenix Suns, and Washington Wizards.

There will be eight regular-season games and a possible tournament to decide which teams will get the final playoff spot.

The league is hoping that teams can begin training at their facilities in July before moving to Orlando, where they can hold full practices.

The owners and the players are still working out the final details of their coronavirus safety plan, which includes daily COVID-19 testing.

Officials have not said when games would resume.
