Bruce Arians on Signing Antonio Brown: I Don't Think That Would Ever Happen

Rich Eisen: “We know Antonio Brown played with Brady, and the reporting is that Brady wished that Brown could have stayed there. We know there’s a lot going on with Antonio Brown, but now we know that his situation has been somewhat settled by the league at the moment. Midseason, is there any way you might be interested in a reunion on that front?”

Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians seemed to brush off any future endeavors between the reloaded Bucs offense and embattled former All-Pro wide receiver Antonio Brown, as Arians didn’t seem too enthusiastic when asked by Rich Eisen on Friday.

“That would take a lot of different moving parts – injuries and other things that would have to happen. I don’t think that would ever happen.” Arians said, as he appeared to chase the brief segment away altogether.

Reports have stayed consistent all year that Tom Brady was ‘upset’ with Patriots management for cutting Brown after only one game with the Patriots last season, and it was being rumored that Brady and Brown would potentially be a package deal in free agency.

Yahoo Sports NFL reporter Charles Robinson told The Doug Gottlieb Show last week that Brady still holds a beef against the New England organization for the Brown breakup, saying Brady and Brown had become very close in the short time Brown was with the Patriots.

After signing with the team on September 7th, 2019, just hours after being released by the Oakland Raiders, Brown would actually suit up in Week 2 against the Miami Dolphins, even catching a touchdown pass from Brady in a Week 2 blowout over the Dolphins. However, Brown would be released just a week later on September 20th when menacing text messages surfaced that Brown had allegedly sent one of his sexual misconduct accusers.

Brown and Arians overlapped in Pittsburgh for two years in 2009 and 2010 when Arians was the offensive coordinator for the team during AB’s first two years in the league.
