The hottest place to be this weekend was in a line of cars outside of Potter's House in Fort Worth.
The Houston-based restaurant The Turkey Leg held a pop-up event over the weekend. Its stuffed and smothered turkey legs, crawfish, and Cajun bowls were so popular that people waited in their cars for hours and caused traffic to back up on Interstate 30.
The Turkey Leg estimated that around 3,000 cars lined up at least four hours before the food truck opened on Friday morning.
Some in line waited even longer. One customer wrote on Facebook:
Y’all did that!!!!! Thank you for not sacrificing the quality of the food just to serve the masses. I was one of folks that waited 11 hours, and it was well worth the wait!! Shout out to the tall brother that tried to keep the line moving and communicating with us what was going on. Ya’ll are appreciated despite all the complaining. May God bless y’all and may your business continue to prosper!!!
Others on social media pointed out that it would have been faster to drive from Fort Worth to the Turkey Leg's Houston location and back than to wait in line.
The pop-up changed to walk-up only on Saturday but that didn't stop the crowds. The restaurant had to put a limit of six turkey legs per order because it was running out.
The food truck is on tour, and the restaurant's social media manager told the Dallas Morning News that it chose to stop in Fort Worth because "people ask when we’re coming to this area all the time on social media."
