David Stern Would Have Suspended Jamal Murray

Denver Nuggets star Jamal Murray was fined $100K for throwing a towel and a heating pad on the court during their Game 2 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves and Dan Patrick thinks he got off easy. While he understands that the NBA wants its stars to play, especially during the playoffs, he is convinced former Commissioner David Stern would have suspended Murray had he still been in charge.

Dan Patrick: “Jamal Murray, this is Game 3 coming up Friday night, it’s a $100K fine, you want your stars on the court. And Adam Silver...it’s not fair for me to say that he is choosing to do that. I just know that David Stern, in my opinion, the previous Commissioner would have suspended Jamal Murray for throwing something on the floor. He would have.”
