The United States Men's Basketball Team defeated France, 98-87, during the gold medal game at the 2024 Paris Olympics to win its fifth consecutive Olympic gold medal.

Stephen Curry led all scorers with 24 points, shooting 8-13 on 3-point attempts, which included making four three pointers in the final two minutes. Curry, 36, won gold for the first time in his legendary basketball career, having never previously represented the United States in Olympic play.

Kevin Durant, the all-time leading scorer in USA Basketball history, recorded 15 points, four rebounds and four assists. Durant won his fifth gold medal, which broke a tie with former USA Basketball teammate Carmelo Anthony for the most of any men's basketball player in Olympic history.

France center Victor Wembanyama, the unanimous 2024 NBA Rookie of the Year, recorded a game-high 26 points, as well as seven rebounds, two assists and one steal.

The Americans went undefeated at the Paris Olympics and to win their fifth consecutive gold medal. France became the first host nation to medal in men's basketball since Team USA won gold at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics.
