GEICO ANNOUNCES HIRING INITIATIVE

GEICO’s Macon regional office plans to hire 200 new associates over the next two months in customer service, sales, claims and emergency roadside service.

All Macon associates are currently working from home due to the COVID-19 outbreak, according to a press release from the company. All interviewing, hiring, on-boarding and training will be done virtually. New employees will also work remotely until the company transitions back to offices.

NAVICENT HEALTH CARE MODIFIES ITS VISITATION POLICY.

Navicent Health is returning to pre-COVID-19 patient volumes across its health system as the state of Georgia continues to reopen in phases, according to a press release. The changes have already been implemented.

Patients in critical care units, palliative care units and birth centers may have two essential visitors for the duration of their stay.

Only one visitor will be permitted at the patient’s bedside at a time.
Visitation passes are nontransferable.

Patients visiting diagnostics for imaging services may have one essential visitor.

Visitors will accompany the patient to imaging services. Once the patient is taken for the diagnostics test, the visitor may move to the waiting room.
Navicent Health teammates will provide visitors with updates and dismissal information.
Adult patients coming for surgical procedures may have one essential visitor accompany the patient on the day of the procedure.

Specific guidelines for The Medical Center, Navicent Health’s Surgery Center

Visitors will accompany the patient to pre-op, where they must remain with the patient until the patient is taken to surgery but then will be asked to leave the facility to help with spacing and social distancing guidelines.
Visitors will be updated about the surgeries via text message.

Specific guidelines for Ambulatory Surgery Center, Navicent Health and Heart Center, Navicent Health

Visitors will accompany the patient to pre-op, where they must remain with the patient until the patient is taken for the procedure. The visitor will then need to move to the waiting room, which has been arranged to promote social distancing.

Pediatric patients coming for surgical procedures at Beverly Knight Olson Children’s Hospital, Navicent Health

Patients may have two parents or guardians accompany the patient on the day of the procedure.
Visitors will accompany the patient to pre-op, where they will remain for the duration of the child’s procedure.
Once the patient is taken for surgery, visitors will be provided updates via text message.
Each visitor will receive a visitor badge that they must wear while in the facility.
Visitors must wait in the designated area and will not be permitted to wander the facility.

All other parts of the essential visitors policy will remain the same as it has been throughout the COVID-19 outbreak.

LOCAL COVID-19 NUMBERS FOR JUNE 15

The Georgia Department of Public Health reported 2,283 positive COVID-19 cases in Middle Georgia in its 3 p.m. on Monday.
