On today’s “Straight Outta Vegas with RJ Bell,” RJ and AJ Hoffman preview this weekend’s game between the Tennessee Titans and Cincinnati Bengals for the AFC Divisional round of the playoffs. RJ believes Tennessee is the better team across the board, and is in prefect position to outright win this game.
RJ Bell: “To me this is the perfect storm. Historically, there has been one team in the last 20 years who outperformed their underlying stats, and that’s the Patriots. Mike Vrabel truly reminds me of Bill Belichick. How many years have the Titans been good, without it being obvious why they are winning? To me, it’s because they’ve outperforming the underlying stats. Henry looks good, from what we’ve seen and heard from practice, and this is the healthiest they’ve been all year. I’m taking Tennessee -3.5.”
AJ Hoffman: “I agree that Tennessee is the better team, and I’m actually putting my best bet on the over in this matchup. Bengals are 31st on DVOA, and Tennessee is one of the best teams at 2nd and manageable. Plus the Bengals struggle early in games and the Titans play their best when they have a lead. I’m taking the over.”
