Kelvin Washington: Justin Tucker will RETURN to NFL at some point

Kelvin Washington and Kerry Rhodes discuss why Justin Tucker may return to the NFL if he can still kick at a high level despite the allegations. Kerry brings up how this situation is treated differently than the Deshaun Watson incident despite the allegations being similar, while Kelvin brings up that if Tucker is still good he will return to the NFL.

Kerry Rhodes:

"The thing with this whole Justin Tucker thing was for me, the coverage, the conversation, we didn't have that. It kind of came out. And people were like oh, like kind of taken aback. But nobody really said anything about it. We had a situation very similar that happened to a quarterback right? That was in Houston, ended up in Cleveland. And people won't let that go at all. I mean, they are still talking about that. And they are very opinionated about it, but when it comes to Justin Tucker in this situation, he said he hasn't done anything yet. So we're gonna be patient and we're gonna wait until the facts come out. That just rubbed me the wrong way. Like if you are gonna be consistent, be consistent when you cover something, doesn't matter who they are, doesn't matter the quarterback, the kicker, doesn't matter if you are African-American, doesn't matter if you are White, like keep the conversation the same."

Kelvin Washington:

"Justin Tucker is a kicker, he's old. and pardon my French, he sucked. Did he suck because all this was on the back of his head and he knew it was coming a got a little nervous? He knew this was coming, and when you have something weighing on you heavy, it can affect your performance. If a kicker is to go in the Hall of Fame, he has the credentials to do so. He has the fortune of just fading away now because he's already been a prolific kicker. It worked out perfectly for him because if he were 28 kicking 66 yarders winning games this would be hot fodder. I know one thing about the NFL, as long as you are not kneeling for the issues of Black America, anything else can get you back in the league. What I mean by that is come late November and a team is sitting there at 10- 4 or 8-3 and they're like man, our kicker just went down. And we got a chance to really make a playoff run? The Bills, Lions, something like that. Please believe all will be forgiven, forgotten and Justin Tucker's phone will ring. Almost anything can get you back in the league."
